Part No: RXSOL-81-2066-200
Highly effective liquid antifoam formulated for controlling foaming and priming in produced water processing in oil gas, waste water treatment, etc
RXSOL Antifoam Defoamer AF20 is a concentrated, silicone-free antifoaming agent formulated using a synergistic combination of proprietory alcohols.
The formulation is designed to provide both rapid foam knockdown and sustained foam suppression. Antifoam Defoamer AF20 provides rapid destabilization of foam lamellae, while also contributing to persistent foam control and improved antifoam activity.
RXSOL Antifoam has demonstrated rapid foam-collapse performance in laboratory antifoam testing, including foam collapse within minutes and resistance to re-foaming under agitation/sparging conditions.

The required dosage depends strongly on the type and concentration of foaming agents, process temperature, agitation and contamination level.
Initial recommended dosage
10-100 ppm
for routine foam prevention.
Moderate foam
50-250 ppm
Severe / persistent foam
100-500 ppm
Shock treatment
250-1,000 ppm
For exceptionally severe foam conditions, higher concentrations may be required during initial treatment, followed by a lower maintenance dose.
Recommended practice: Start at the lowest effective dosage and increase progressively.

- Stop or reduce the foam-generating operation if possible.
- Apply a small quantity of antifoam directly onto the foam.
- Allow approximately 1–5 minutes for foam collapse.
- Restart circulation/aeration.
- Establish a lower continuous maintenance dose if required.
Mode of Action of FOAM KNOCKDOWN
Foam Film Destabilization
The hydrophobic alcohol components migrate toward the air-liquid interface and interfere with the surfactant film surrounding the foam bubble.
Reduction of Foam Film Stability
The antifoam disturbs the elastic surfactant layer, promoting thinning and rupture of the bubble wall.
Rapid Bubble Collapse
Antifoam AF20 provides rapid foam-breaking activity. Published testing has demonstrated rapid collapse of foam following addition of Antifoam AF20 .
Persistent Foam Suppression
Antifoam AF 20 with its longer hydrocarbon chain, contributes to a more persistent hydrophobic phase that can remain active during continued agitation.
Re-Foaming Control
The combination is intended to reduce the tendency of foam to regenerate after agitation, pumping, aeration or circulation.
Key Features of RXSOL Oil and Gas ANTIFOAM
- Silicone-free foam control
- Rapid foam knockdown
- Long-lasting antifoaming action
- Effective under agitation and aeration
