Calcium Nitrate 32 Percent Solution

Part No: RXSOL-67-6720-030

calcium and nitrate ions and is designed for industrial, water-treatment, wastewater-treatment and process applications requiring a convenient liquid source of calcium nitrate.

Calcium Nitrate 32% Solution

Product Description

Calcium Nitrate 32% Solution is a clear, water-soluble liquid containing approximately 32% w/w calcium nitrate [Ca(NO₃)₂]. It provides readily available calcium and nitrate ions and is designed for industrial, water-treatment, wastewater-treatment and process applications requiring a convenient liquid source of calcium nitrate.

The liquid form provides advantages over solid calcium nitrate where accurate dosing, continuous injection, rapid mixing and automated chemical-feed systems are required.

Application

Applications & Uses

Calcium Nitrate 32% Solution is particularly useful in wastewater and sewage treatment, where nitrate can be used in appropriate treatment programs to help control anaerobic conditions and associated hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) generation and odour problems.

It may also be used for:

  • Industrial wastewater treatment
  • Sewage and effluent-treatment systems
  • H₂S and odour-control treatment programs
  • Process-water applications
  • Calcium supplementation in suitable industrial processes
  • Concrete and construction chemical formulations, subject to formulation requirements
  • Chemical manufacturing
  • Specialty water-treatment formulations
  • Industrial nitrate and calcium source

Wastewater & H₂S Control

In wastewater systems, prolonged anaerobic conditions can encourage sulfate-reducing bacteria to generate hydrogen sulphide. Calcium nitrate solution can be dosed as part of a properly designed nitrate-treatment program to help maintain conditions that suppress sulfide formation.

Typical applications include sewer networks, wastewater collection systems, pumping stations, holding systems and industrial effluent systems.

Dose

Dosage should be determined from wastewater characteristics, retention time, sulfide loading, temperature and the desired treatment objective rather than using a universal fixed dosage.
